The SCAD Savannah Film Festival is set to take place from Oct.  21-28 and has become a notable event leading up to the Academy Awards.

Ava DuVernay, known for her work on "Origin," will receive the Virtuoso Director Award on Oct. 28.

Todd Haynes, director of "May December," will be honored with the Outstanding Achievement in Directing Award on Oct. 23.

Cord Jefferson, writer/director of "American Fiction," will be presented with the Breakthrough Director Award on Oct. 22.

Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer, production designers for "Barbie," will receive the Outstanding Achievement in Production Design Award on Oct. 23.

Kazu Hiro, renowned makeup artist behind "Maestro," will be honored with the Career Achievement Award on Oct. 24.

Emerald Fennell, writer/director of "Saltburn," will receive the Spotlight Director Award on Oct. 24.

Jeff Nichols, writer/director of "The Bikeriders," will receive the Auteur Award on Oct. 25.

George C. Wolfe, director of "Rustin," will be presented with the Storyteller Award on Oct. 25.

Also other honorees such as Greta Lee, Cailee Spaeny, Jack Huston, Kevin Bacon, and Peter Sarsgaard, who will receive various awards during the festival.
